St. Joseph’s Pastoral Care Inc was created in 2015 after the sale of St. Joseph’s Nursing Home located in Utica, NY. St. Joseph’s Nursing Home was built in 1970 as a non-denominational 120 bed facility with operations run by the Carmelite Sisters. A designated chapel was part of the daily services offered embracing that concept that spiritual growth and comfort was part of caring for the whole person. Upon the sale of the nursing home, board members felt that many senior communities would benefit by offering services and pastoral care to those who did not have a chaplain on campus and so, with the funds that were generated from the sale of the nursing home, the new focus and mission was created under the name of St. Joseph’s Pastoral Care, Inc.
The Six videos and website were fully funded by St. Joseph’s Pastoral Care, Inc, a 501c 3 organization and can be obtained FREE to any non profit facility that will share this information with your senior population. It is our hope that Staff members (chaplains, activity directors, wellness coordinators, etc.) who are responsible for enhancing the quality of life as it pertains to spiritual love and care will see this as way to bring faith services into congregate housing. Seniors can share these videos together, privately or by inviting family members to share moments of worship together. We do ask staff members to fill out the form (below) and tell us how these videos are being received as you downlead each video. Please feel free to add any comments as we are looking to expand our video series in the near future.
